All of the amenities of a resort right at home
A one storey Fonthill home with a challenging outdoor space in between the house and existing pool. Homeowners wanted some shade in the sunny, south-facing backyard, and a space where they could relax and play without having to leave town.
The biggest challenge was fitting the homeowner’s wish list into such a small area. Requests included a hot tub, fireplace, sitting/dining area, built-in barbecue and gardens. Privacy from their neighbours was also an issue, as the space butted right up against the property line.
Merging spaces solved the design challenge in this compact backyard. Steps allowed easy, but obvious transition between sitting/dining area and barbecue zone on one side and access to the pool on the other. The hot tub was settled cozily in the corner, utilizing a privacy screen between the neighbouring yard. The fire place provided an alluring draw, and made this design a year-round paradise.
