Simple lines and materials combine to create a contemporary multi-functional space.
Situated on the Lake Ontario waterfront, this home is nestled in close proximity to its neighbouring properties. An existing inground pool was built into the gently sloping backyard.
Creating a highly-functional, contemporary space to entertain family and friends was the primary priority for the project. The homeowners wish list included a pavilion, multi-level lounge areas, a barbecue area and a change house close to the pool while maintaining site lines to the lake views.
New low-maintenance plantings and hardscape installed in the front and side yards provides increased privacy and softens the appearance of the home’s stone and stucco exterior. Simple lines and materials were utilized to define the tiered spaces of the rear yard. Two connected, functional structures were introduced adjacent to the pool, providing a change house and a screened entertaining space featuring a new firepit.
